Technical Requirements
- extensive familiarity with the latest versions of MySQL, ideally 5.7, 8.0 or higher.
- adept at administering, setting up, and installing MySQL in production settings.
- strong proficiency in indexing techniques, schema analysis, and query tuning as part of performance optimization.
- thorough familiarity with alternative MySQL storage engines, including InnoDB.
- demonstrated expertise in setting up and maintaining AWS Aurora MySQL databases.
- thorough knowledge of Aurora’s architecture, including automated backups, replicas, auto-scaling, and distributed design.
- adept at keeping an eye on and adjusting Aurora clusters for optimal performance.
- competent in both native MySQL replication and Aurora replication setup and maintenance.
- expertise putting disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) systems into practice.
- capable of setting up and keeping an eye on point-in-time recovery procedures and automated backups.
- practical knowledge of monitoring technologies like Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios, Amazon CloudWatch, or comparable programs. “Thank you for this opportunity” should be added so we know you have read these instructions.
- proficiency with access control, encryption (TDE, SSL/TLS), and the implementation of strong security rules.
- competent in compliance management and database auditing for regulatory compliance.
- strong background in task automation scripting using languages like Python, Bash, or Perl.
- knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) technologies for database deployment and administration on AWS, such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- proficiency in setting up and managing events, triggers, and stored procedures.
- adept at handling locks, transactions, and other sophisticated SQL functions.
- competent in identifying and fixing performance problems with SQL queries.
