Company name is Paramount. They are looking for remote candidate. They are Paramount+’s Video Engineering and Streaming team, which supports the architecture and video delivery of VOD and live content that is streamed across more than 15 platforms. Additionally, their staff is in charge of premium partner sharing, delivery, and encoding.
Project management, performance optimization, information sharing and junior engineer mentorship are all responsibilities of the senior software engineer. Furthermore, this position will have a great deal of autonomy in choosing how to address the problems that are provided.
Among the duties are:
- Maintaining and improving our video partner delivery platform in collaboration with other developers.
- Collaborating with the group to develop cloud-based microservices that facilitate processes for video playback.
- The services pertaining to HLS/DASH manifests and manifest manipulation are being expanded.
- Responding to inquiries and requests for video playback from site publishers.
- Collaborating with the operations team and other developers to streamline the CI/CD solution.
- Fostering an engineering culture that encourages code coverage and test-driven development
- Improving the DRM protection and video playback APIs and creating new capabilities centered on user entitlements and HLS/DASH manifest modification
- Developing new microservices and enhancing Paramount+’s video delivery and content filtering systems
- Collaborating with the development team on a central monitoring and logging solution, such as Sumologic, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Enhancing procedures for video delivery and debugging tasks and processes.
- Collaborating with development teams to modernize and re-architecture current systems for the cloud.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years of working in Golang.
- Familiarity with AWS/GCP cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Golang.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technological discipline, or comparable real-world experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Workflow experience creating and managing cloud-based video systems.
- familiarity with cloud/SaaS platforms like Google Cloud and Amazon AWS
- expertise in developing Golang APIs and database technologies such as Postgres and MySQL
- proficiency with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions and Argo, as well as Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of JSON/XML and object-oriented languages
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
- Understanding of DRM technologies such as Fairplay, PlayReady, and Widevine, as well as HLS/DASH streaming media standards
- familiarity with the video and audio codec standards AVC, HEVC, VP9, AV1, and AAC
